Kevin\u2019s daughter, Kada, has been missing for more than a week. She was last seen on Oct. 4 in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Kada was born and raised in Philadelphia. She\u2019s the eldest of two. \u201c[She\u2019s] the creative type,\u201d Kevin said. \u201cShe loves fashion. She has designed her own clothing brand in the past. I believe she was looking into starting her own healthcare business as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kada graduated from Penn State in 2023, where she studied communications. She also recently began participating in pageants. \u201cShe broke into it this past summer. It\u2019s called Miss USA,\u201d Kevin said. \u201cThat was actually her first time participating in a pageant. She said she loved the experience and wanted to do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the time of her disappearance, Kada was living with her mother and worked at an assisted living facility called The Terrace at Chestnut Hill.<\/p>\n

Kevin said his daughter worked the overnight shift on Oct. 4. \u201cPrior to work, I believe she may have gone to dinner with friends \u2014 something of that nature,\u201d he said. \u201cShe came back home around 9:45 p.m., asked to borrow her mother\u2019s car, and left for her 10 p.m. shift, which was set to end at 6 a.m.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kada drove to work. The next day, Sunday, Oct. 5, Kevin got a call. \u201cHer mom called me and asked, \u2018Did you speak to Kada?\u2019\u201d Kevin had not. \u201cShe said it was strange because Kada got off at 6 a.m. that morning but never arrived home.\u201d<\/p>\n
They tried calling Kada but got no response. Kevin said it was unlike his daughter. \u201cShe always has her phone with her \u2014 normally always charged,\u201d he said. \u201cTo have the phone totally off, go straight to voicemail, and no texts responding \u2014 that\u2019s definitely strange behavior for Kada.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kevin said Kada\u2019s mother called her job and learned that she left early, around 10:30 p.m. \u201cThat was the last time someone saw her,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then she disappeared.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Kevin, on the evening of Oct. 5, Kada\u2019s mother reported her missing. He said officers with the Philadelphia Police Department searched the area near Kada\u2019s work the next day. \u201cHer mom\u2019s car was still parked in the employee parking lot,\u201d Kevin said. \u201cShe had an iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch in her bag, but they were not inside the vehicle. Whatever happened, she took her belongings with her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kevin said police scoured the area with canines, helicopters and drones. \u201cThey didn\u2019t find anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 8, the Philadelphia Police Department held a press conference<\/a> regarding the case. Sergeant John Craig noted there had been no cellphone or social media activity from Kada. \u201cYou have a 23-year-old young lady who has completely disappeared,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re interviewing family and friends and analyzing cellphone data.\u201d<\/p>\n Craig said investigators learned through Kada\u2019s family and friends that in the days prior to her disappearance, unknown individuals had been harassing her via phone. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to figure out who they are,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re hoping anyone can lead us in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n On Oct. 10, investigators conducted<\/a> a search at Awbury Arboretum in Philadelphia\u2019s Germantown neighborhood, but officials reported that nothing was found.<\/p>\n On Oct. 14, the department announced that the homicide unit is now investigating Kada\u2019s case. Dateline reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department, which confirmed the case is now being handled by the homicide unit but did not answer any additional questions.<\/p>\n Kevin Scott told Dateline the FBI is now also involved in his daughter’s case. \u201cWe haven\u2019t spoken directly with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Kevin is just hoping Kada will find her way home. \u201cWe\u2019re working as hard as we can,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Kada is 5\u20196\u201d and 120 lbs.
