Alex de Minaur is among the ATP players struggling at this late stage of the season after a busy 2025 so far.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De Minaur withdrew from UTS Hong Kong<\/a> with injury, having just lost in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters.<\/p>\n

The 10-time ATP Tour<\/a> champion currently occupies seventh place in the world rankings, one shy of his career high.<\/p>\n

De Minaur<\/a> has played 69 matches in the 2025 season, with 50 wins and 19 losses to the 26-year-old\u2019s name so far.<\/p>\n

He reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the US Open, but fell in the second and fourth rounds at Roland Garros and Wimbledon respectively.<\/p>\n

It now remains to be seen if he can add to his match tally given his injury issue, of which he has now provided an update.<\/p>\n

He told Tennis Majors: \u201cIt\u2019s a hip injury, the one I sustained last year after Wimbledon which sidelined me for a long time so it is an area of concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo this is something that I can\u2019t take any chances with. Last year it sidelined me for almost three or four months, and I played the rest of the year with pain.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, it\u2019s warning signs, I need to make sure everything is good. I don\u2019t want to have the same problem as last year. I need to be smart and look after the body.<\/p>\n

\u201cI need to go get a scan. I need to see what the issue is, why I\u2019m still getting pain and then once we kind of sit down with the team, the doctor, the medical team, we can assess what the game plan will be for the rest of the year, right?<\/p>\n

\u201cSo there\u2019s a lot of question marks, a lot of uncertainty, so I\u2019ve got to kind of wait and see, play the waiting game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex de Minaur\u2019s current standing with the ATP Finals amid worrying injury issue<\/p>\n

De Minaur was really enjoying himself at Wimbledon last summer before his unfortunate withdrawal in London.<\/p>\n

He was set for a highly anticipated clash against Novak Djokovic, but the pain in his hip was simply too much to keep going.<\/p>\n

Hopefully for his sake he can shake off the issue sooner rather than later, with plenty still to play for between now and the end of the season.<\/p>\n

He currently occupies seventh place in the rankings, with the top eight players making the cut for Turin next month.<\/p>\n
