SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 The San Antonio Police Department said it is investigating a \u201chigh-profile murder\u201d on the North Side. <\/p>\n

During a Tuesday afternoon news conference, SAPD Chief William McManus said a 79-year-old man was stabbed to death with a knife by a family member in his home located in the 19200 block of Reata Trail. <\/p>\n

McManus said an argument or altercation between the victim and his family member may have led up to the stabbing. <\/p>\n

According to McManus, a housekeeper inside the home called SAPD. <\/p>\n

McManus said the suspect, a man in his 40s, fled the home before they were detained in Kimble County during the 11 a.m. hour. <\/p>\n

There is no current danger to the public, the chief said. <\/p>\n

SAPD said the suspect is not from Texas, but it is unclear why he was in San Antonio. <\/p>\n

According to SAPD\u2019s dispatch call log, officers responded to an assault in progress call just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the 19200 block of Reata Trail, located near North Loop 1604 East and Blanco Road. <\/p>\n

In a Tuesday afternoon email, an SAPD spokesperson said the incident has since been elevated to a murder investigation. <\/p>\n

The Bexar County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office will release the victim\u2019s identity when its investigation is complete. <\/p>\n
