Police have alleged the murder was planned by three Australians<\/a>, Darcy Jenson, Paea-I-Middlemore Tupou and Coskun Mevlut, with the latter two carrying out the attack.<\/p>\nIn July, all three men were handcuffed and forced to re-enact the alleged shooting as police carried out their investigation.<\/p>\n
Police have not yet revealed a suspected motive for the shooting.<\/p>\n
“We’ll hear that together in court. I can’t make any statements before the facts are established at trial,” Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara said.<\/p>\n

“They were cooperative throughout the process, but I can’t disclose any further details; this still needs to be examined and tested in court.”<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, the three were handed over to Bali’s prosecutors.<\/p>\n
The case will proceed to trial in Bali, where the three are expected to be indicted on murder charges and premeditated murder charges.<\/p>\n
If convicted of premeditated murder by the court, the three men could face the death penalty.<\/p>\n
Police allege Darcy Jenson, 27, prepared the attack, providing a sledgehammer to break into the villa, providing cars and motorbikes for the other two and organising a villa.<\/p>\n
Police allege Paea-I-Middlemore Tupou, 27, and Coskun Mevlut, 22, carried out the attack at the villa.<\/p>\n
Mr Jenson was arrested at a Jakarta airport, while the other two were arrested in Cambodia and returned to Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Following the handover, lawyers for Mr Jenson told reporters that their client had been cooperating with police and that he was helping a friend, without knowing the alleged murder would take place.<\/p>\n
“The most important thing is he has been cooperative with the process,” they said.<\/p>\n
