KUTV in Provo, Utah, confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/kutv.com\/news\/local\/man-arrested-for-violent-threats-against-utah-fans-ahead-of-u-of-u-byu-football-game\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one man was booked into a local jail<\/a> after allegedly threatening to shoot Utah fans.<\/p>\n<p>The man, 28-year-old <strong>Christopher Tai Justice<\/strong>, was taken into custody after authorities linked him to a Twitter account that had twice made threats to Utah fans. He was reportedly behind the account @juiceisloose328 and was booked on misdemeanor charges of threat of violence and obstruction of justice.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the account posted twice with threats, leading to plenty of retweets from concerned fans. Many of them, both from BYU and Utah, tagged Provo police and noted their concern after the recent shooting of conservative political activist <strong>Charlie Kirk<\/strong> on the campus of Utah Valley State.<\/p>\n<p>The first threat on Twitter read: \u201cI\u2019ll be in LES (LaVell Edwards Stadium) Saturday. Any Ute fan I see is dead. Mark my words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following that threat, another user urged him to log off. He replied to that with a subsequent threat: \u201cnah anyone wearing red on Saturday is getting shot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police were able to link Justice to the tweets about the BYU and Utah game, in part, using text messages to a friend. He initially denied having a Twitter account, per KUTV\u2019s reporting.<\/p>\n<p>But after police continued to investigate, they found texts between Justice and a friend saying that he would deny the tweets if confronted by police. Per KUTV: \u201cJustice allegedly admitted to making the threats online, saying he lied because he was \u2018scared of what could happen.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s game between BYU and Utah will be a key Big 12 matchup. BYU sits tied atop the Big 12 standings with a 3-0 conference record, while Utah is currently 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams are ranked, with the Cougars checking in at No. 15 nationally and the Utes at No. 23.
