CASTLE HILLS – Sylvia Gonzalez, a former councilwoman, will receive a $500,000 settlement from the city of Castle Hills, concluding a free speech lawsuit that reached the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n

Gonzalez claimed retaliation by the city and Mayor J.R. Trevino after she called for the removal of the city manager, leading to her arrest. <\/p>\n

While not admitting guilt, Mayor Trevino stated that he and the council have agreed to undergo civil rights training. <\/p>\n
