{"id":307206,"date":"2025-10-16T05:01:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T05:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/307206\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T05:01:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T05:01:16","slug":"orange-park-mall-to-require-adult-supervision-of-minors-on-fridays-saturdays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/307206\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange Park Mall to require adult supervision of minors on Fridays, Saturdays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h855239-p1\" class=\"permalinkable\">Effective Oct. 17, Orange Park Mall will require minors to have adult supervision on Fridays and Saturdays.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p2\" class=\"permalinkable\">Each adult guardian must be age 21 or older and may supervise up to four minors.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p3\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cThis policy reflects priorities identified in collaboration with the Clay County community,\u201d Orange Park Mall General Manager Randy Bowman said in a news release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p4\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cWe are committed to providing an environment where families, neighbors, and visitors feel welcome. These enhancements, along with our local partnerships, help ensure that Orange Park Mall continues its long-standing role as a family-friendly center for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p5\" class=\"permalinkable\">The policy was developed in coordination with the Clay County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the release said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p6\" class=\"permalinkable\">The mall has made headlines with some violent incidents.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p7\" class=\"permalinkable\">In 2024, deputies investigated fights on the property and a nearby shooting. In February 2025, a fight involving five males was caught on camera. Four months later, the sheriff\u2019s office forced hundreds of juveniles to leave the mall after causing disruptions.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p8\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cOrange Park Mall has been an important part of Clay County for more than 50 years, and we are proud to partner with them to ensure the center reflects the values of our community,\u201d Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p9\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cTogether, we are excited to work alongside the Orange Park Mall team to build a stronger community for families, residents, and businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p10\" class=\"permalinkable\">The initiative builds on efforts by new mall owner Second Horizon Capital to shape the future of the 50-year-old center through infrastructure investments, expanding amenities and strengthening programming.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p11\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cOrange Park Mall is a central retail destination within Clay County and the greater Jacksonville area, with strong long-term potential for enhancement,\u201d Second Horizon Capital Partner Howard Levine said in an email.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p12\" class=\"permalinkable\">\u201cThrough intentional investments in the center\u2019s shopper experience, elevating our operations, and deepening connections with our local community, we are excited to support Orange Park Mall in continuing its 50-year legacy as a dynamic, welcoming hub for residents, visitors, and tenants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"h855239-p13\" class=\"permalinkable\">Opened in 1975, the mall has more than 120 national and local retailers, a 24-screen AMC Theatre and more than 20 restaurants.
