Waymo has announced a partnership with DoorDash to begin delivering some orders in the Phoenix area with its autonomous vehicles. <\/p>\n
Customers who place orders on DoorDash within Waymo\u2019s 315-square mile service area in the Valley<\/a> could be greeted with a fully autonomous Waymo vehicle making the delivery. <\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited to make everyday errands easier with the Waymo Driver, offering the added peace of mind that comes with our safe and reliable technology,\u201d said Nicole Gavel, head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Waymo. \u201cThrough our partnership with DoorDash, we leverage our proven delivery experience to provide customers with a seamless, contact-free way to get items they need, whether it\u2019s groceries or a quick bite.\u201d<\/p>\n The companies say the new service offers increased safety, convenience and sustainability to customers. <\/p>\n What to expect<\/p>\n The companies say it\u2019s simple to get a Waymo to deliver your order. Customers will need to opt into autonomous vehicle delivery when checking out on DoorDash for a chance at a Waymo delivery<\/a>. <\/p>\n The service will start with orders from DashMart, which is DoorDash\u2019s line of convenience and grocery stores.
