JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Adventure Landing has now officially closed its doors for good, after more than 30 years in the Jacksonville Beach area.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdventure Landing is a fantastic place,\u201d Jacksonville Beach Jonathan Torres told Action News Jax. \u201cThere\u2019s so many families in the area, so it\u2019s nice to, a nice place to go. Super sad that it\u2019s closing.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a statement posted to social media<\/a> on Wednesday, managers of the action park said in part:<\/p>\n \u201cAdventure Landing was given a short timeframe to cease operations, bringing a sudden and heartbreaking end to more than 30 years of laughter, milestones, and community connection in Jacksonville Beach.\u201d<\/p>\n >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Action News Jax reported back in 2022<\/a> when Jacksonville Beach city council members considered an ordinance that would bring 427 apartments to the space where Adventure Landing is located on Beach Boulevard.<\/p>\n Now, with just a sign reading \u201cpark closed\u201d and locked-up fences, Action News Jax asked Jacksonville Beach locals what they\u2019d like to see take the place of what many considered a landmark.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m in the real estate sector, so, you know, obviously something that\u2019s going to be partial residential, partial shopping, restaurants, something like that,\u201d Torres suggested.<\/p>\n \u201cAnything, anything really. Just not the apartments like everybody else is saying,\u201d a Jacksonville Beach local named Kelly added. \u201cIt\u2019s a big spot, it\u2019s right by the water and everything, so it\u2019s got potential.\u201d <\/p>\n Action News Jax reached out to Trevato Development Group, the owners of the property, about their future plans for the land.
