Angel Reese is one of the most talked-about athletes in American sports today. She made history after becoming the first WNBA<\/a> star to walk the ramp at a Victoria\u2019s Secret show. Social media was abuzz following her performance on the stage, but the conversation has since shifted back to basketball.<\/p>\n

Reese had an excellent sophomore season individually in 2025, although her team didn\u2019t improve much. This led to some controversy, too, as her comments about exploring a move away rubbed the franchise the wrong way. The Chicago Sky even suspended her briefly for \u2018comments detrimental to the team.\u2019 And it seems that this has put Angel off talking to the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven before the game, I\u2019m like terrified of what the media\u2019s about to ask,\u201d Reese said on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel. \u201cIt could be the nicest question, but it\u2019s going to get flipped or put into a different light. It\u2019s like, are you here intentionally to start a mess, or are you here intentionally to ask a question?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really tough for me, especially in the media, because I don\u2019t want to do an interview with anybody. Certain people, I know I can talk to, but certain\u2026 I\u2019d rather take the fine. I\u2019d rather take the fine than talk to the media because it always gets flipped. That\u2019s where the media has gotten these days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese\u2019s rivalry with Caitlin Clark and her general unapologetic attitude have led to increased scrutiny in the media. It\u2019s not hard to see why the 23-year-old doesn\u2019t think she can trust them enough to give honest answers. As she continues to get older, Angel will likely learn to play the game a bit better. Until then, the WNBA might just be able to collect a few fines.<\/p>\n
