Detectives probing the suspicious death of a toddler north of Brisbane have identified “a number of inconsistencies” from information initially provided, police say.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a Burpengary address for a medical welfare check on December 30, 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 16-month-old boy was transported to hospital in a critical condition and died eight days later.<\/p>\n

At the time, an investigation was launched by the Pine Rivers Child Protection Investigation Unit, in conjunction with the Homicide Investigation Unit, to establish the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.<\/p>\n

Investigators are renewing their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or concerning behaviour to come forward. (ABC News: Curtis Rodda)<\/p>\n

Today, Queensland Police Service (QPS) revealed “new information” had been provided to authorities.<\/p>\n

“Ongoing investigations have identified a number of inconsistencies from information initially provided,” QPS said in a statement.<\/p>\n
