\n\tSnoop Dogg<\/a> has partnered with GLAAD to support Spirit Day, the LGBTQ+ youth anti-bullying initiative. As part of the campaign, the rapper sat down with \u201cThe Voice\u201d alum Jeremy Beloate \u2014 a member of the LGBTQ+ community who was part of Team Snoop on the NBC reality series \u2014 for a special Spirit Day conversation<\/a>. The two discussed their recent collaboration on a new song titled \u201cLove Is Love,\u201d which is featured in Snoop\u2019s animated children\u2019s YouTube series, \u201cDoggyland<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is\u2026being able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key,\u201d Snoop said in the conversation. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn the children\u2019s show, Beloate voices a puppy named Zippy, who joins the Doggyland pups to sing \u201cLove Is Love,\u201d a song that celebrates the love shared among families. Snoop, meanwhile, voices Bow Wizzle, one of the show\u2019s main characters. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOur parents are different \/ No two are the same \/ But the one thing that\u2019s for certain is the love won\u2019t change,\u201d the pups sing, as several same-sex couples appear on screen. \u201cFamilies are special \/ They are so unique \/ Everybody\u2019s got a purpose, more than what you see \/ We love you, parents \/ We love you so.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSnoop said in a statement: \u201cAt the end of the day, it\u2019s all about love \u2014 that\u2019s what we\u2019re teachin\u2019 the kids with \u2018Love Is Love.\u2019 Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day just felt right, because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do. We\u2019re showin\u2019 the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSnoop\u2019s partnership with GLAAD, along with his new song \u201cLove Is Love,\u201d comes months after the rapper made controversial comments about the Pixar film \u201cLightyear.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tOn an August episode of the \u201cIt\u2019s Giving\u201d podcast, Snoop Dogg said he felt \u201cscared\u201d to bring his grandchildren to the movies after watching \u201cLightyear<\/a>,\u201d the 2022 \u201cToy Story\u201d spinoff that includes a scene featuring two women raising a child \u2014 along with Disney and Pixar\u2019s first same-sex kiss.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey\u2019re like, \u2018She had a baby \u2014 with another woman,’\u201d Snoop recalled. \u201cWell, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, \u2018Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She\u2019s a woman!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSnoop remembered thinking, \u201cOh shit, I didn\u2019t come in for this shit. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2018They just said, she and she had a baby \u2014 they\u2019re both women. How does she have a baby?’\u201d he recalled his grandson pressing. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt fucked me up. I\u2019m like, scared to go to the movies,\u201d Snoop added at the time. \u201cY\u2019all throwing me in the middle of shit that I don\u2019t have an answer for\u2026 It threw me for a loop. I\u2019m like, \u2018What part of the movie was this?\u2019 These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They\u2019re going to ask questions. I don\u2019t have the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his recent conversation with Beloate, Snoop explained that \u201cLove Is Love\u201d is \u201cteaching parenthood, it\u2019s teaching the situation that kids and the world is going through right now in a beautiful way \u2014 through song, dance, melody \u2014 and just trying to get more understanding, clarity, on how we live and the way we live. And I felt like this music is a beautiful bridge to bring an understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cThis is a program that we\u2019ve been doing for years, where we involve kids, and these are things that kids have questions about. So now, hopefully, we can help answer these questions and help them to live a happy life and understand that love is love.\u201d<\/p>\n
