A search is underway in Santa Barbara County for a 9-year-old girl who has been missing for a year.<\/p>\n
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff\u2019s office, they are seeking the public\u2019s help in locating the at-risk child, Melodee Buzzard.<\/p>\n
The department first began investigating her disappearance on Oct. 14 after a school administrator reported that Melodee had been absent for a long time.<\/p>\n
Authorities attempted to speak with the child\u2019s mother, Ashlee Buzzard, but they did not find the child.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo clear explanation was provided for her whereabouts,\u201d the department said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the department, there have been no confirmed recent sightings of the child. The last verified contact with her was a year ago and her most recent photo was taken two years ago.<\/p>\n
Detectives urge anyone who may have seen Melodee or had any contact with her in the past year to come forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n
