\t\t\t\tAmerican Airlines has stopped flights to Eugene, Oregon, out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, but will add a trip to Colorado later this year.<\/p>\n
In addition, more flights will be added to San Jose, California, from DFW Airport early next year, ahead of the 2026 Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
Zooming in<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the Fort Worth-based airline’s website, service will resume to Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport in Gunnison, Colorado, in December. A search of flight plans shows the route will start Dec. 18.<\/p>\n According to the city website<\/a>, Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park<\/a> features some of the steepest cliffs, oldest rock, and craggiest spires in North America, according to its website. Also nearby is the Blue Mesa Reservoir<\/a>\u2014part of Curecanti National Recreation Area<\/a>\u2014the state’s largest body of water.<\/p>\n A closer look<\/strong><\/p>\n American Airlines has canceled its direct flight to Eugene, Oregon. Seasonal flights to the town, which is home to the University of Oregon<\/a>, were offered.<\/p>\n The airline still offers connecting flights to Eugene<\/a> with stops in El Paso, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Houston, San Antonio, Tucson, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Denver, Austin and Albuquerque, according to the website.<\/p>\n One more thing<\/strong><\/p>\n American will also offer 10,000 additional seats on flights to San Jose between Feb. 5 and Feb. 10, 2026, for the Super Bowl, taking place at Levi\u2019s Stadium<\/a> near San Jose Mineta International Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n There will be seven flights from DFW Airport to San Jose per day, Feb. 5-6, and eight flights from San Jose to DFW Airport on Feb. 9.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s no better way to see the action than live in the stadium, and American has consistently kept fans in mind this season with our largest-ever fall football schedule, and now with added flights for the season\u2019s final matchup,\u201d said Jason Reisinger, American Airlines’ managing director of global network planning, in a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n
