Tucker DeVries comes out hot<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his first appearance at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Tucker DeVries came out firing.<\/p>\n

The two-time MVC player of the year scored IU\u2019s first nine points, setting the tone for a lopsided first half.<\/p>\n

DeVries scored in a variety of ways to open the game. He hit a 3-pointer, a stepback jumper, a dunk and a pair of free throws.<\/p>\n

IU fills it up from distance in first half<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indiana set the tone with its perimeter shooting in the first half.<\/p>\n

The Hoosiers, who made 12 3-pointers in a game a total of twice over the previous four seasons, went 12-for-20 from distance in the opening 20 minutes and led by as many as 46 points.<\/p>\n

Six different Hoosiers made a 3-pointer in the first half as IU scored 1.86 points per possession.<\/p>\n

Hoosiers set the tone defensively early<\/strong><\/p>\n

Against an overmatched opponent, Indiana dominated the first half defensively. Marian managed just 22 points and scored .61 points per possession in the opening 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Hoosiers had very few breakdowns, closed out well on shooters and didn\u2019t allow an offensive rebound in the first half.<\/p>\n

Coupled with its red-hot offense, the stellar defense allowed the Hoosiers to roll to a comfortable exhibition victory.<\/p>\n

Standout performers<\/p>\n

DeVries set the pace for the Hoosiers and scored 23 points on 7-for-9 shooting in 22 minutes.<\/p>\n

Freshman Trent Sisley also had 23 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including a 4-for-4 mark on 3-pointers. Sisley added six rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes.<\/p>\n

Senior Sam Alexis posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in 18 minutes to go along with three blocked shots.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next for the Hoosiers<\/p>\n

Indiana concludes exhibition play on Sunday, October 26 against Baylor at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
