The Holiday Bowl pits a team from the ACC against a current\/former Pac-12 member.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe athletic directors had conversations about it and decided they didn\u2019t want to do it,\u201d a source said.<\/p>\n<p>Added another source: \u201cIt was explored, there were a lot of pieces to the puzzle, but it ain\u2019t happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 47th Holiday Bowl will be played Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. ET in San Diego. The bowl has been held annually since 1976 except in 2020.
