Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist Chen-ning Yang, died in Beijing on Saturday at the age of 103.<\/p>\n
Yang died of sickness, according to Xinhua. No details were given.<\/p>\n
He was often ranked alongside Albert Einstein as one of the 20th century\u2019s greatest physicists.<\/p>\n
In 1954, he co-authored a set of equations with the American physicist Robert Mills that turned out to be as important to physics as Einstein\u2019s theory of relativity.<\/p>\n
The resulting Yang\u2013Mills theory described how three of nature\u2019s four fundamental forces \u2013 the electromagnetic, weak and strong interactions \u2013 operate in the subatomic world.<\/p>\n
