A lot of work is going into getting the facility operational,” said Allie Payne, an Amazon spokesperson, in an email.

Payne added that Amazon has invested more than $80 billion in Texas projects since 2010.

She said it was too early to discuss hiring or employment at the facility.

Amazon’s purchase along Rosillo Creek Boulevard comes several years after the company rapidly expanded in San Antonio. Between 2020 and 2022, Amazon announced six new facilities in Bexar County, including delivery stations and fulfillment centers. At the time, Amazon said those facilities created around 2,000 new jobs.

That was part of a wider trend. Other companies built out logistics infrastructure in San Antonio, which is located on both the Interstate 35 and I-10 corridors, to meet shipping and last-mile delivery needs.

[5133
2431,5229,9734,157872,157873,7202,7203,157874,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969,11887
0":"post-313338","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-san-antonio","8":"tag-amazon","9":"tag-america","10":"tag-east-side","11":"tag-new-amazon-warehouse","12":"tag-rosillo-creek-boulevard","13":"tag-san-antonio","14":"tag-sanantonio","15":"tag-stantec-architecture","16":"tag-texas","17":"tag-tx","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa","24":"tag-wc-less-than-500
["GET
