MUNCIE, IN\u00a0\u2014 The\u00a0 Robert Cooper Audubon Society will honor the recipients of its\u00a02025 conservation awards on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Ball State University Alumni Center, 2800 W. Bethel Ave.<\/p>\n
Hours for the event are 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited.<\/p>\n
The event \u2014 which includes “inspiring presentations by the honorees, appetizers and door prizes,” according to a press release \u2014 is free and open to non-Audubon members. Attendees should RSVP to cooperaudubon@gmail.com by Nov. 20.<\/p>\n
The following individuals will be recognized for their contributions to conservation and environmental education in East Central Indiana:<\/p>\n
Sheryl Myers, of Anderson, will receive the Robert H. and Esther L. Cooper Conservation Award,\u00a0the chapter’s highest honor, for overall contributions to, conservation of\u00a0and appreciation for the natural environment.<\/p>\n
Diana Bowman, of Hagerstown, will receive the Clyde W. Hibbs Conservation Education Award,\u00a0for excellence in educating the area’s children, youth\u00a0and\/or adults on conservation issues and practices.<\/p>\n
Keith Morris, of Anderson, will receive the Richard Greene Public Service Award, for active involvement in serving the public’s environmental interests and concerns.<\/p>\n
Ryan Smith, of Bluffton, will receive the Phyllis Yuhas Wildlife Habitat Preservation Award,\u00a0for development or preservation of habitat that contains significant wildlife and\/or native plant life populations.<\/p>\n
Chayson Brown, of Bluffton, will receive the Charles D. Wise Youth Conservation Award,\u00a0for excellence in conservation practices by a youth under the age of 18.<\/p>\n
The Robert Cooper Audubon Society serves nearly 400 members in seven counties of East Central Indiana and is a chapter of the National Audubon Society.
