\n\tMariah Carey<\/a>\u2019s next album is finished and yes, there will be some classic Carey ballads on the track list.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer revealed the news at an event with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden celebrating the 10th anniversary of Apple Music. Near the end of the chat, Lowe asked Carey what she planned to do next, following the release of her recent single, \u201cType Dangerous.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, it\u2019s the album coming out,\u201d Carey said with some caution. \u201cI don\u2019t want to tell too much about it, because I just don\u2019t want to reveal the whole thing, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLowe and Darden did get Carey to confirm a few details, such as: The album is finished and it contains 11, or maybe 12, songs (Carey couldn\u2019t remember the exact number). When Darden asked if fans could expect \u201cthe big Mariah ballads,\u201d she replied, \u201cWe are. Yes. We got some Mariah ballads.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCarey also said the album\u2019s next single would be coming soon, saying, \u201cI\u2019m very excited about it. It\u2019s very summery. I like the beat, as well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s been seven years since Carey released her last album, 2018\u2019s Caution<\/a>. Since then, Carey hasn\u2019t released too much new solo music, though she has dropped new anniversary issues of several classic albums (including The Emancipation of Mimi<\/a>, Music Box, Butterfly<\/a>, and Rainbow), the 2020 compilation The Rarities<\/a>, and plenty of Christmas music. She\u2019s also guested on remixes of songs by Ariana Grande<\/a> and Latto.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCarey released \u201cType Dangerous\u201d in early June, quickly following the track with a music video<\/a> that featured appearances from Marlon Lundgren Garcia and MrBeast.
