It seems likely, and a few insights into the movie&#8217;s supporting cast\u2014or, at least, their costumes\u2014have been revealed today.<\/p>\n<p>According to scooper <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MyTimeToShineH\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">@MyTimeToShineH<\/a>,\u00a0Ruthye, the young\u00a0noble and honour-bound warrior who travelled across the cosmos with Supergirl to hunt down Krem of the Yellow Hills for killing her father in cold blood, will look a little different to her comic book counterpart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;She&#8217;s dressed in a green coat with a fur-lined hood, black pants, brown boots,&#8221;<\/strong> the insider reveals.\u00a0<strong>&#8220;She has a sword.&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0The sword is nothing new, but this is a departure from the comics, where she&#8217;s decked out in a pretty plain brown or beige ensemble.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s said that Jason Momoa&#8217;s Lobo <strong>&#8220;is very comic accurate,&#8221; <\/strong>while Krem has <strong>&#8220;a more monstrous look than in the comics.&#8221; <\/strong>As a reminder, the comic book Krem is a humanoid character, and\u00a0a pirate and assassin hailing\u00a0from a distant world that orbits a red star.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time we&#8217;ve heard about him having a more monstrous appearance, and we&#8217;re not too shocked to learn that DC Studios has set out to make him a slightly more formidable threat for the Girl of Steel in the DCU.<\/p>\n<p>Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira is a fan of superhero movies, despite not being a regular comic book reader.\u00a0Recently, she explained\u00a0her approach to the Maiden of Might,\u00a0saying of the character,<strong>\u00a0&#8220;She watched Krypton completely be destroyed. I was always like, &#8216;I can\u2019t get my head around the version of the character that is so sunny.'&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After reading Tom King and\u00a0Bilquis Evely&#8217;s<strong>\u00a0&#8220;rougher and grittier and edgier and funnier&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0take on Kara in the\u00a0Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,\u00a0Nogueira was inspired to bring that same feel to the big screen.\u00a0<strong>&#8220;When I read it, I was like, &#8216;There she is,'&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>she noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Supergirl, Supergirl travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.<\/p>\n<p>The cast includes\u00a0Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo,\u00a0David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and\u00a0Emily Beecham as\u00a0Alura In-Ze.\u00a0Craig Gillespie directs from a script by Ana Nogueira.<\/p>\n<p>Supergirl\u00a0arrives in theaters on June 26, 2026.
