Last week, Charlie made amends with Riley and Ava, and it was for real this time. Hopefully. Charlie also introduced his dad, Anwar, to the group. He was worried about his dad judging his friends, but Anwar just wanted to know what Charlie’s career plans were once he turned 30. And Charlie’s response was crickets. Meanwhile, Ava got her judgment on when she wondered how Ariana could be a designer when she didn’t give fashion. Let the fashion feud commence! Here’s exactly what went down in Next Gen NYC Episode 5: “Zero Bucks Given.”

What happened in Next Gen NYC Episode 5?

Charlie continued to decimate his friendships one by one. And this time, the lucky winner was Georgia. He had lent her some speakers, which she returned several days late. The horror! This apparently warranted some atrocious insults towards her. Word also got out that Charlie pretty much owed everyone in the group money. Meanwhile, Brooks thought his job was in jeopardy with his mom. But really she just gave him a time-out. Riley’s mom also paid her a visit and warned her she only had a short time left to figure out her next move.

Meredith fired Brooks … sort of

Unsurprisingly, nothing was resolved between Ava and Adriana regarding Ava criticizing her fashion. Ava added insult to injury when she told Ariana she would expect Georgia to have a fashion line over her because she had a point of view. Gia said, “So, you’re basically saying she has no style.”

Ava didn’t appreciate Gia jumping in and asked her to stop putting her finger in her face. Gia responded, “This is how I talk. We’re Italian. If you’re not used to it, get over it.” Thankfully, there were no tables nearby to flip. Ava then told Adriana, “Sorry I hit an insecurity.” This war wasn’t ending anytime soon.

The next day, Georgia met up with her business partner, Dani. Georgia explained, “One thing that’s different about Gen Z is I don’t think anyone wants to work for someone else.” Um, who does? The two were prepping for their next event, and that was for Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks.

And Meredith needed an outfit for her upcoming caviar party. Luckily, Brooks was up to the challenge. He shared he styled his mom before (the feather era … shudder) but was not responsible for the infamous crystal face mask. Now that was giving fashion. After they settled on an Alaska chic number, Brooks brought up that Meredith had fired him the previous week.

Brooks apparently had missed an email, which resulted in a shipping delay for Meredith’s denim line. So, she sent Brooks a text explaining why he needed to “find a new job by the end of this month.” While Meredith reassured him she didn’t mean it, the text had given Brooks anxiety. He didn’t want to feel like a disappointment to his mom. Ah, the joys of working for your parents.

Georgia’s not ready to say the “L” word

The fashion feud with Ava came back up when Riley paid Ariana and Hudson a visit. Riley spilled the tea that Ava’s mom picked out her outfits. She said, “I was surprised that she had something to say about you, cause if your mom picks out your outfits, then you can’t really, like, talk down on someone else.” Her mom must love a good Forever 21 sparkly short.

Later on, Ava met up with Charlie at her dad’s latest business venture, a restaurant called Slutty Vegan. Sounds like a great place to bring the family. While Ava lamented she didn’t know which of her dad’s ideas were real or not, Charlie wasn’t paying attention. He was too busy texting Georgia to get his speakers back.

Ava wondered if he and Georgia were still besties or not. Charlie gave no reason as to why things were “weird.” Instead, he made fun of when Georgia stayed with him. He said, “Georgia was homeless, living on my couch, eating my scraps.” He really is a friend to no one.

However, Georgia seemed to be doing just fine. She met up with her boyfriend, Omar, for dinner. Georgia explained there was a little hiccup with Meredith’s event when she found out the venue was closed down. Oop. But she hustled and got a new one.

After her story, Omar blurted out, “I love you!” Georgia called BS. He had only known her for two months and told another girl the same thing after one day. She admitted she had trust issues from when her dad led a secret life. Even with her concerns, Omar wasn’t planning on going anywhere. And neither was she.

Riley and Ariana are BFFs

Despite the last minute of it all, Georgia pulled off Meredith’s party without a hitch. And they didn’t need security either. The only issue was Ava showed up the last five minutes because … rain. Emira said, “There is a sense of entitlement. Give it a rest.”

Charlie then made his rounds, asking everyone to chip in for a table at The Box. The question was, would he pay his share? As everyone left, Shai stopped by to say thank you to Meredith and Seth Marks for inviting him. Seth, per usual, was extra and asked Shai if he would date Charlie if he was a girl. Shai smartly hightailed it and ran.

The next day, Riley met up with her mom, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss, and her step-dad, Todd Tucker. Kandi reminded her she had six months to figure out what her next steps were. She remained hopeful law school was in her daughter’s future. Unfortunately, Riley wanted to be … dun dun duuun … a DJ. Kandi rolled her eyes. #Momlife

Ariana popped in to say hello and informed Kandi that Riley was her new bestie. It was a cute moment, and Kandi was thrilled. Riley then brought up that Charlie was mad at her. She had kicked him out from their table at the club because he and his friends drank everything and didn’t pay. When she told her mom the bill was $14,000, Kandi sighed. Riley shrugged her shoulders … inflation?

Meanwhile, Charlie told Dylan that Riley didn’t want him to pay. Sure, Jan. He then moped about having to find a career since he was turning 30. Dylan was annoyed but just wanted him to find a sense of purpose. However, it seemed Charlie would rather complain than make any changes.

Was Charlie grifting the group?

The group met up for dinner minus Ava and Charlie, and the vibe was nice. Then the topic of Charlie came up and how he would promise to pay everyone back but never did. Hudson said Dylan had spilled the tea that Charlie owed him $4,000. This concerned Georgia. She noted that he never acted this way until recently.

Next up was a montage of everyone hard at work. Ariana and Brooks preached NYC was the place to be to figure out your life in your 20s. Brooks added, “Otherwise, like, it’s too late.” Everyone knows your life is over when you turn 30. Just ask Charlie.

Any concern Georgia had for Charlie went out the window when she met him for lunch. Things quickly went left when Charlie wouldn’t let go that Georgia returned his speakers late. When Georgia called his behavior “absurd,” he punched back, “You’re a stupid delusional b*tch.”

Georgia held her own and called him a POS that got $10,000 a month from his dad. Charlie then pulled the ole “It’s my show” card and said she wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him. She countered he was almost 30 and was a joke. Charlie quipped, “If you were a man, I’d slap you in the face right now.”

Still, Georgia didn’t back down. She said, “I pay my own rent. If you didn’t have daddy’s money you’d be on the street tomorrow.” Charlie did his usual MO by running away, and ruining yet another friendship.

Next Gen NYC continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.

TELL US – WHAT DID YOU THINK OF NEXT GEN NYC EPISODE 5?
