They will remain at the hospital until they are cleared to return to the jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis is not an airborne virus,\u201c BCSO spokesperson Sandra Pickell said. \u201dIt is only contagious by touching the lesion itself or by close physical contact of the lesion, rash or scab and does not live on surfaces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The inmate\u2018s cellmate was moved to the infirmary for an assessment, Pickell said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cFurthermore, Classification checked for any other possible housing exposures,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Monkeypox, also known as mpox, is a rare disease caused by infection with a virus that is in the same family as the one that causes smallpox, according to the Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Milder symptoms can include fever, chills and body aches.
