In the prequel, Effie serves as the stylist for Haymitch Abernathy (played by Joseph Zada) ahead of the 50th games;\u00a0Banks\u00a0portrayed an older version of Effie in the series\u2019 first four films, which kicked off with\u00a0The Hunger Games\u00a0hitting theaters in 2012.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAt the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/gallery\/adrien-brody-jeff-goldblum-bowen-yang-photos-academy-museum-gala-2025-1236404657\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Academy Museum Gala<\/a> on Saturday, Fanning told The Hollywood Reporter that they are currently shooting and \u201cI\u2019m almost done with my section. Effie is on the screen now.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAs for conversations she\u2019s had with Banks about the role, the star also revealed, \u201cI\u2019ve met her before and she actually was so kind and she sent me these beautiful flowers and said, \u2018May the odds be ever in your favor.\u2019 We texted a little bit. She made that role iconic and so lovable and so I hope I can live up to what she did for the fans.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFrancis Lawrence is once again at the helm of the new film, which is set to hit theaters Nov. 20, 2026. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lists\/the-hunger-games-sunrise-on-the-reaping-characters-movie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The cast also includes<\/a> Zada,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/whitney-peak-hunger-games-sunrise-reaping-prequel-rachel-1236258207\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitney Peak<\/a>, Mckenna Grace,\u00a0Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr.,\u00a0Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor and Ben Wang, with\u00a0Ralph Fiennes as the villainous President Snow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFanning has previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/elle-fanning-credits-fans-hunger-games-casting-effie-1236331913\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">credited fans<\/a> for her landing the role of Effie, telling MTV earlier this year, \u201cIt was funny because I think fans made this happen in a way.
