{"id":317135,"date":"2025-10-19T23:18:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-19T23:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/317135\/"},"modified":"2025-10-19T23:18:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-19T23:18:11","slug":"golden-oak-barbecue-and-taproom-to-open-in-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/317135\/","title":{"rendered":"Golden Oak Barbecue and Taproom to open in Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 A new option for barbecue lovers is coming to downtown Phoenix with Golden Oak Barbecue and Taproom opening on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant concept was hatched from a partnership between Nicky\u2019s Barbecue founder Chris Figueroa and Oro Brewing and Vice Co. founder Dave Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>It is located on <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/mSCopGZp8XUzyDvVA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Central Avenue, just north of Interstate 10<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe set out to create more than a restaurant,\u201d Figueroa said. \u201cWe wanted Golden Oak to feel like an experience. From our incredible barbecue to the way our team connects with every guest, everything we do is designed to make people feel welcome and cared for. Downtown Phoenix has an energy and community spirit that we\u2019re proud to be part of and we can\u2019t wait to share this space with our guests.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s on the menu?<\/p>\n<p>The menu is inspired by variations of barbecue from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Texas brisket, St. Louis cut ribs and other dishes with Hispanic and South American influences such as Papa a la Huanca\u00edna are paired with sides like mac and cheese and elote.<\/p>\n<p>Papa a la Huanca\u00edna is a creamy Peruvian potato dish, a complement to Figueroa\u2019s Peruvian heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Each dish is paired with Oro Brewing Company\u2019s award-winning craft beers like the \u201cInside the Park\u201d Blonde Ale and \u201cTrigo Suave\u201d Tangerine Wheat Ale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal with the menu was to pay homage to the traditions of barbecue while bringing in flavors from South America and other renowned barbecue regions across the world,\u201d Executive Chef Grant McLennon said.<\/p>\n<p>Local artists featured at Golden Oak Barbecue and Taproom<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant\u2019s interior is filled with mirrors and a structure that creates layered lighting. The design is meant to feel both rustic and refined.<\/p>\n<p>It is anchored by a custom mural by Phoenix-based artist Tanner Christensen that celebrates the texture, color and vitality of the desert landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Other artwork from local artist Geovanny Urrutia will be on display throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-restaurant-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomkuebelaz\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @tomkuebelaz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
