Los Angeles Police Department detectives are seeking the public\u2019s help in identifying a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning that left a local man dead.<\/p>\n
At approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 19, a silver 2007-2008 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Arleta Avenue near Wentworth Street when it struck a pedestrian walking along the roadway. The driver did not stop, render aid, or identify themselves, as required by law, and was last seen continuing north on Arleta Avenue.<\/p>\n
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the pedestrian, a 57-year-old Hispanic man and resident of Arleta, to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe community plays an essential role in helping law enforcement identify drivers involved in hit-and-run collisions,\u201d the LAPD said in a statement.<\/p>\n
City drivers are reminded that anyone involved in a collision should pull over safely, contact emergency services, and remain at the scene to provide their information.<\/p>\n
