The Texas Department Public Safety has identified the five people, including most of a Fort Worth family, killed in a major chain collision crash near Terrell<\/a> over the weekend. <\/p>\n

In a news release Tuesday, DPS spokesperson Sgt. Kyle Bradford said the crash happened on Interstate 20 at about 2:40 p.m. Saturday when 27-year-old Alexis Osmani Gonzalez-Companioni allegedly fell asleep at the wheel while driving a semi. <\/p>\n

His vehicle then struck a Ford F-150 carrying five people in the rear, which then pushed into two other big rigs, Bradford said.<\/p>\n

Four people in the pick-up were killed, according to the news release. DPS identified them as a Fort Worth family: 52-year-old Zabar McKellar, 45-year-old Krishaun McKellar, 16-year-old Kason McKellar and 79-year-old Billy McKellar. <\/p>\n

DPS named the fifth occupant as 20-year-old Evan McKellar, who the agency said sustained \u201cnon-incapacitating injuries\u201d and was flown to a local hospital. A GoFundMe campaign<\/a>, set up Tuesday, said she was in the ICU. <\/p>\n

\u201cSaturday, June 28, 2025, will be a day we never forget,\u201d the campaign\u2019s description said. \u201cOn this heartbreaking day, we lost a beautiful family in a tragic motor vehicle accident in Terrell, Texas.\u201d <\/p>\n

Gonzalez-Companioni suffered \u201cnon-incapacitating injuries,\u201d while the other semi drivers were not injured, the news release said. <\/p>\n

The first semitruck then jackknifed, striking a Jeep Compass and pushing it into a Ford Mustang, according to the news release. It added that a Honda Civic was also struck by debris from the crash. <\/p>\n

The Jeep\u2019s driver, 49-year-old Nicole Gregory of Dallas, was flown to a hospital and later pronounced dead at there, the news release said. <\/p>\n

The three occupants of the Ford Mustang received \u201cnon-incapacitating injuries,\u201d and they were either treated on scene or at a local hospital. The two occupants on the Honda Civic were not injured, DPS said.<\/p>\n

Bradford previously said there were six fatalities but attributed the inaccuracy Tuesday to a clerical error reported by the hospital. <\/p>\n
