And now, a big new contender from California is making its New York City debut. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.99ranch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">99 Ranch<\/a> is opening its first New York City proper location in Queens, along with its food hall Eat Up. Both are opening in Flushing at 37-11 Main Street, between 37th and 38th avenues, <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701644&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Ftherealdeal.com%2Fnew-york%2F2024%2F09%2F27%2F99-ranch-market-inks-long-term-lease-for-first-nyc-store%2F\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as reported by the Real Deal<\/a>. There is no scheduled opening date as of yet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">99 Ranch\u2019s Flushing market will have 22,000 square feet of space for its wide array of pan-Asian foods, snacks, products, produce, meats, seafood, baked goods, condiments, and much more. Eater has reached out for more information. <\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701644&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Ftherealdeal.com%2Fnew-york%2F2024%2F09%2F27%2F99-ranch-market-inks-long-term-lease-for-first-nyc-store%2F\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Main Street address<\/a> had most recently been a location of the national chain Hong Kong Supermarket, which closed in 2024 (the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/hong-kong-supermarket-new-york-3?sort_by=date_desc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinatown location<\/a> remains open); and, before that, Busy Bee Mall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">99 Ranch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.99ranch.com\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">started<\/a> in 1984 in Westminster by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/food\/story\/2023-07-07\/second-generation-owners-of-99-ranch-market-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roger Chen<\/a>. And since then, the company has grown into one of the biggest supermarkets in the country. It\u2019s expanded with more than 60 locations across the country. The three closest stores to New York City are in New Jersey (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supermarketnews.com\/grocery-categories\/gallery-99-ranch-comes-to-new-jersey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jersey City<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northjersey.com\/story\/money\/2018\/06\/26\/asian-supermarket-99-ranch-market-ready-open-hackensack\/736206002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hackensack<\/a>) and on Long Island (<a href=\"https:\/\/ny.eater.com\/2022\/4\/6\/23011924\/99-ranch-market-opening-in-new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Westbury<\/a>).
