In 2026, NASCAR is heading to the Coronado Naval Base in San Diego, California. The track layout has been announced for the NASCAR San Diego weekend.<\/p>\n

The course will run 3.4-miles and 16-turns through the Navy base. It becomes the longest course on the 2026 NASCAR schedule. <\/p>\n
The race weekend begins on Friday, June 19th with the NASCAR Truck Series. However, general admission will be closed for the opening day. NASCAR noted, \u201cFriday access will be open exclusively to members of the U.S. Navy at Naval Base Coronado and a limited amount of Coronado residents and then culminate with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saturday will host the NASCAR O\u2019Reilly Auto Parts Series (Formerly Xfinity). The weekend concluded on Sunday June 21st with the NASCAR Cup Series race. <\/p>\n

The Ellyson Start\/Finish Line:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cNamed in honor of Commander Theodore Ellyson, Naval Aviator Number One. His training at North Island laid the foundation for its commissioning as a naval air station in 1917 and eventual recognition as the \u2018Birthplace of Naval Aviation.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n Turn 5, Carrier Corner:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThis sharp left-hand turn is located between the docking location of two aircraft carriers.\u201d<\/p>\n Turn 8, Coronado Chicane:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThis begins a series of turns that will provide drivers with a steep challenge as they speed toward the interior of the base.\u201d<\/p>\n Turn 14, Runway Road:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cAptly named, given it is located near the north end of Runway 18\/36 at Halsey Field.\u201d<\/p>\n Amy Lupo comments<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so exciting to finally share the street course layout and provide this first look for our long-time and new fans,\u201d said NASCAR San Diego President Amy Lupo. <\/p>\n \u201cAnticipation for this event is already high, and we know this course layout will raise that level of excitement even higher.
