After a solid start to his career, he signed a five-year deal for $15.5 million that took him through the 2025 season. That contract also came with a club option for $8 million for 2026, which the Brewers are sure to pick up in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">However, because of Milwaukee\u2019s recent history of trading star pitchers before the end of their contracts (Corbin Burnes in 2023-24 offseason, Devin Williams in 2024-25 offseason), it should come as no surprise that there are plenty of rumors swirling about Peralta\u2019s future with the Brewers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He\u2019s coming off his third consecutive 200-plus strikeout season, while also pitching to a career-best 2.70 ERA and paired with a 3.65 FIP across 176 2\/3 innings, also a career-high mark.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We\u2019re asking fans in this week\u2019s poll if the Brewers should trade Peralta this offseason, with a few caveats added.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The team could trade Peralta to begin a rebuild (something that seems unlikely given former GM David Stearns\u2019 past comments on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brewcrewball.com\/2022\/10\/7\/23387759\/after-missing-a-bite-of-the-apple-in-2022-milwaukee-brewers-management-must-reflect-and-adapt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:\u201cbites of the apple\u201d;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">\u201cbites of the apple\u201d<\/a>); the team could trade Peralta and prioritize the near-future if the price is right; the team could wait to trade Peralta until the trade deadline (either a la Josh Hader or assuming the team isn\u2019t in playoff position); or the team could make one final postseason push with their ace (a la what happened with Willy Adames in 2024).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">What do you think the Brewers should do with their ace?
