Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt shared the same sentiments as Manchester United legend Steve Bruce over one player\u2019s stunning display against Liverpool at Anfield.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Steve Bruce<\/a> was the latest high-profile figure to appear on \u2018The Good, The Bad & The Football\u2019 podcast, which is co-hosted by both Paul Scholes<\/a> and Nicky Butt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scholes, Butt and Bruce all reacted to Manchester United\u2019s sensational 2-1 win over Liverpool<\/a> in the Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

United took an early lead over Liverpool<\/a> thanks to Bryan Mbeumo\u2019s<\/a> immediate impact before Cody Gakpo<\/a> pulled one back for the Reds late in the second half.<\/p>\n

However, Harry Maguire<\/a> cancelled out Cody Gakpo\u2019s equaliser and put United<\/a> back in the lead over Liverpool after he headed home what would be the match-winner.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> changed up his tactics for the trip to Anfield and Benjamin Sesko<\/a> was dropped to the bench, despite scoring in back-to-back Manchester United matches.<\/p>\n

Mason Mount<\/a> operated in a false nine role down the middle and Bryan Mbeumo played out on the right, with Matheus Cunha<\/a> returning to the starting XI on the left.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha was a lively presence in the attacking threat during the 90 minutes of Sunday\u2019s 2-1 win and impressed with his overall performance for United.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old Brazilian forward didn\u2019t assist or score against Liverpool, but Cunha\u2019s presence was constant and he remained a real threat for United.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Cunha, Paul Scholes said: \u201cCunha yesterday was brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicky Butt echoed the sentiments of his ex-United and England teammate by highlighting how the Red Devils have performed without Cunha\u2019s influence.<\/p>\n

\u201cCunha was a big miss,\u201d he told Scholes.<\/p>\n

Steve Bruce reacts to Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt\u2019s high praise for Man Utd forward Matheus Cunha in the 2-1 Liverpool result<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha was United\u2019s first major summer signing<\/a> of the window after the Red Devils landed the Brazil international in June from Premier League side Wolves.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils triggered the former Wolves forward\u2019s \u00a362.5m release clause after his impressive season at the Molineux in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.<\/p>\n

United legend<\/a> Bruce, much like former teammates Butt and Scholes, praised Cunha\u2019s display against defending Premier League champions Liverpool at the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cCunha\u2019s a top [player]. Good player,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
