Kevin Federline<\/a> is opening up about the “final straw” in his marriage to Britney Spears<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the 47-year-old former dancer’s new memoir, You Thought You Knew<\/a>, he recalled allegedly getting a call from his then-wife, now 43, while she was hanging out with Paris Hilton<\/a> and Lindsay Lohan<\/a> \u2014 with her and Federline’s sons Sean Preston<\/a> and Jayden James<\/a> in the background.<\/p>\n Federline, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, recalled feeling “crushed” by “late-night calls” he claims he’d receive from the pop superstar while she was allegedly under the influence of alcohol “with the sound of my kids crying in the background.”<\/p>\n John Salangsang\/Shutterstock; Gregg DeGuire\/WireImage<\/p>\n Kevin Federline in February 2023; Britney Spears in August 2015<\/p>\n The author recalled feeling “crushed” by the alleged calls \u2014 especially one in particular, when he was working in Miami and Spears was hanging out with Hilton, 44, and Lohan, 39, “drunk as hell, begging me to come over,” he wrote.<\/p>\n According to Federline’s claims, the call came in the early morning hours, and Preston, now 20, and Jayden, now 19, could be heard “crying in the background.” At the time, he’d “already seen” the now-iconic photos of Spears, Hilton and Lohan partying together, but getting the call felt like his “final straw,” per the book.<\/p>\n “Any deep-seated sliver of hope that I\u2019d held onto, that we might still somehow pull it together for the kids, died right then,” wrote Federline. “It wasn\u2019t a one-time thing, either. It was all part of that reckless pattern.”<\/p>\n At the time, Federline wrote in the memoir, he felt Spears “wasn’t ready to change” and he was done “waiting for her” to do so.<\/p>\n Spears previously wrote about the “supposedly crazy night” with Hilton and Lohan in her 2023 memoir, The Woman In Me. At the time, she claimed she’d been staying at a beach house with her mom, Lynne Spears, who took care of Preston and Jayden while she, Hilton and Lohan went out and got “drunk” together.<\/p>\n According to Spears, the night ended in a “huge fight” between her and Lynne. However, “I’d had her babysit so I could go out responsibly, without the kids seeing their mother under the influence,” wrote the “Toxic” singer.<\/p>\n Listenin<\/p>\n ‘You Thought You Knew’ by Kevin Federline<\/p>\n A rep for Spears responded to Federline’s memoir and his allegations in a\u00a0statement shared with PEOPLE<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday, Oct. 14.<\/p>\n “With news from Kevin\u2019s book breaking, once again he and\u00a0others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” they told the publication. “All she cares about are her kids,\u00a0Sean Preston\u00a0and\u00a0Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism.\u00a0She detailed her journey in her memoir.”<\/p>\n The “Piece of Me” artist has since shared statements on X, saying\u00a0she’s “had enough” of Federline “constantly gaslighting” her.<\/a>\u00a0In an\u00a0X\u00a0post<\/a> on Wednesday, Oct. 15, she also defended her relationship with Preston and Jayden.<\/p>\n “I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” Spears wrote. “Relationships with teenage boys is complex.
