This post contains details from Tuesday night\u2019s episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/dancing-with-the-stars\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dancing-with-the-stars\" data-tag=\"dancing-with-the-stars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dancing with the Stars<\/a>, including who went home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tViewers were transported to Oz for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/wicked\/\" id=\"auto-tag_wicked\" data-tag=\"wicked\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wicked<\/a> night in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWicked director Jon M. Chu joined in on the fun to guest judge the performances, which included a range of songs from both films including all the top hits like \u201cDancing Through Life,\u201d \u201cPopular,\u201d and \u201cDefying Gravity.\u201d The night began with a lively opening number featuring the pros choreographed by Chris Scott, who also did the choreo for the films and was also in the ballroom for the show. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlso, Deadline was in the ballroom to capture some behind-the-scenes content for the swankified evening, and you\u2019ll find some of those videos below.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKeep reading for more on the performances and scores, as well as to see who was sent home in the single elimination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying with Rylee Arnold.<\/strong>\u00a0Dancing a contemporary to \u201cThe Wizard and I,\u201d Hoying (a self-proclaimed Wicked super fan) wanted to take the judges\u2019 notes from previous performances seriously and take up more space on the ballroom floor. Hoying played the part of the Wizard in the song, while Arnold embodied Elphaba. \u201cContemporary is hard for somebody with normal arms and legs,\u201d Chu joked of Hoying\u2019s lengthy limbs, complimenting the vigor of the routine but pointing out that he would\u2019ve like to see smoother transitions. <strong>SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a028 out of 40.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Social media personality Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy.<\/strong>\u00a0The TikTok star danced a jazz routine to \u201cWhat Is This Feeling?\u201d and was determined to do it justice for Ariana Grande, whose performance in the movie she praised. And, she did just that. By all accounts, she totally nailed it. \u201cI thought it was delicious,\u201d Bruno Tonioli said. \u201cEverything had the right intention in the right place.\u201d While it might not have been her most difficult dance, as Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out: \u201cIt was your best dance.\u201d <strong>SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>35 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson.<\/strong> Irwin is here to be the \u201cbest [he] possibly can be,\u201d so he pulled out all the stops for this jazz routine to \u201cDancing Through Life.\u201d It would\u2019ve been a crime to assign him any other song for Wicked night, and naturally he brought the fun and breezy energy required of anyone embodying Fiyero. \u201cThat needs to be your theme song,\u201d Inaba told him. \u201cThat was so ambitious. You really took the challenge\u2026You nailed it!\u201d\u00a0She also called Carson\u2019s choreography \u201cstunning.\u201d <strong>SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a036 out of 40 (all 9s, their best scores of the season!)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Whitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Mark Ballas<\/strong>. After getting ahead of her music last week on Dedication Night and making a rare mistake, Leavitt was determined to bounce back and be \u201cmore present\u201d for her quickstep to \u201cPopular.\u201d For this Glinda-centric routine, she and Ballas were even able to use some of the set pieces from the film. \u201cIt was the perfect blend of technical prowess and\u2026art,\u201d Chu said. \u201cI was floating on air in a bubble watching it, and I think the whole world was too.\u201d\u00a0She certainly redeemed herself from the week before, considering dance brought not only her highest scores of the season, but the first 10s of the season, too. Derek Hough was the only judge to give her a 9 (Booooo!). <strong>SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>39 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Reality TV star Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach.<\/strong>\u00a0Dancing a rumba to \u201cI\u2019m Not That Girl,\u201d Efron was coming off the highest scores of the season on Dedication Night, when he danced for his younger sister. The last time he did a Latin dance, he struggled a bit as the movements are self-admittedly out of his comfort zone, so he was extra focused this week to make up the deficit. Shall we just say, the hips were moving tonight! As Tonioli said, \u201cYour hips are no problem at all,\u201d adding that, in fact, sometimes Efron seemed to even lose control of them. Inaba complimented he and Karagach\u2019s partnership and had some technical notes, but all the judges agreed he\u2019s certainly been growing significantly week over week. <strong>SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a032 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Comedian Andy Richter with partner Emma Slater.<\/strong> Performing a jazz routine to \u201cOne Short Day\u201d intro\u2019d by the one and only Michelle Yeoh (via video message), Richter was ready to step into his element with the showmanship of the dance style. While he says there won\u2019t ever be an episode of this show where he doesn\u2019t expect to go home, he\u2019s still committed to bringing his all until that day comes. He proved that on this journey into the Emerald City, as exhibited by Tonioli\u2019s comment: \u201cYou were on time! It\u2019s a miracle!\u201d He got three 7s! His highest scores! Once again, Derek Hough was a little bit of a buzzkill, saddling Richter with another 6. <strong>SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>27 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Actor Elaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten.<\/strong> The Parent Trap phenom was left confused after her Dedication Night dance received fairly low scores from the judges, which she felt was a bit unfair. On a week where she felt the pain of her physical limitations more than ever, it was fitting she was dancing a contemporary to \u201cDefying Gravity,\u201d a song all about pushing past anything and everything standing in one\u2019s way. She brought the ballroom to their feet and made Inaba cry with her powerful performance. \u201cThat was something special,\u201d Inaba said. \u201cThat passion \u2014 it was beauty, elegance\u2026I am so proud of you.\u201d\u00a0The dance earned her all 9s, her highest scores of the season. <strong>SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a036 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Jen Affleck (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Jan Ravnik.<\/strong>\u00a0The new mom danced a Foxtrot to the romantic ballad \u201cAs Long As You\u2019re Mine,\u201d and she went into the week feeling a little insecure. \u201cDo you think I\u2019m a bad dancer? Be honest,\u201d she asked Ravnik in their intro package, though he insists she\u2019s doing great. Affleck says she specifically asked for harder choreography this week in an effort to up her scores. \u201cI really felt like you were connected to that dance,\u201d Derek Hough told her. \u201cIt was very beautiful.\u201d Affleck seemed a little underwhelmed with her score, despite it being her highest of the season with all 8s. <strong>SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>32 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) with Pasha Pashkov.<\/strong> After Inaba told her last week that she felt like she was watching \u201cthe same dance over and over again,\u201d Fishel wanted to shake things up with her Argentine tango to \u201cNo Good Deed.\u201d And shake things up, she did! \u201cFull of passion and drama! It had a fantastic style and placement,\u201d Tonioli said, also praising Pashkov\u2019s choreography, given the song is quite a challenging one. Inaba got what she asked for, calling the dance Fishel\u2019s \u201cbreakthrough.\u201d The judges bestowed her highest scores of the season, all 9s! <strong>SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a036 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa.<\/strong>\u00a0Chiles closed out the night with her rumba for \u201cFor Good.\u201d An interesting dance style for the song, which required Chiles and Sosa to embody friends rather than lovers (as is typical of a rumba), but somehow they pulled it off. It was simply no surprise she earned three 10s. Keeping it short and sweet, Inaba said: \u201cIt was perfection!\u201d <strong>SCORE<\/strong>: 39 out of 40<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt truly felt a little unfair to have to eliminate anyone on a night with so many high scores and noticeable improvements, but such is life. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDrumroll, please\u2026Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold had the lowest scores and thus will not be dancing next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SPOILER ALERT!
