Amsterdam-style coffee shop <a href=\"https:\/\/archiescoffee.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Archies<\/a> will soon open its fourth store at 711 S St. Mary&#8217;s St in the heart of the King William district.<\/p>\n<p>A public notice for a mixed beverage permit application spilled the beans on the new location. A store employee confirmed that the chain was working on the new store taking over the former home of Boozy&#8217;s Creamery + Craft.<\/p>\n<p>Local entrepreneur David Padilla first opened Archies in 2021, adding a second San Antonio shop in 2024 and a San Marcos outlet in February. The concept has become popular by offering a wide variety of sippers from the usual espresso drinks to more adult concoctions.<\/p>\n<p>Among the more grown-up choices are its plant-based energy drinks, spiked with a considerable dose of caffeine and tropical flavors. Any of the drinks can be supplemented with wellness boosts like collagen peptides or enhanced with CBD or THC.<\/p>\n<p>The shops also have a full bar with beer, wine, and cocktails. Naturally, some of the best-sellers are carajillos and espresso martinis. If the latter makes guests peckish, they can order pastries, egg bits, or mini charcuterie boards.<\/p>\n<p>The employee shares that the King William Archies still has a couple of months to go before it makes its debut. The brand&#8217;s website lists the location as &#8220;coming soon,&#8221; but does not give a timeline for its opening.<\/p>\n<p>Padilla has told multiple local media outlets that he plans to expand Archies&#8217; footprint in the upcoming years. He also founded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jugousa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jugo<\/a>, a small chain of shops selling cold-pressed juice, smoothies, and a\u00e7ai bowls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A local caffeine peddler is giving the national chains a run for their money.
