{"id":323136,"date":"2025-10-22T06:23:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T06:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323136\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T06:23:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T06:23:14","slug":"jessica-pegula-gives-her-verdict-on-a-potential-six-queens-slam-in-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323136\/","title":{"rendered":"Jessica Pegula gives her verdict on a potential &#8216;Six Queens Slam&#8217; in Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Pegula kept a close eye on the recent Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the second year in a row, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-identifies-the-biggest-difference-between-his-final-vs-carlos-alcaraz-in-saudi-arabia-and-the-us-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jannik Sinner won the Six Kings Slam<\/a>, beating his rival Carlos Alcaraz in the final.<\/p>\n<p>In doing so, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner<\/a> took home $6 million, as he continues to enjoy success at the lucrative exhibition event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"723\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2241872410-1024x723.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner pose with their titles at the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia.\" class=\"wp-image-137432\" \/>Photo by Clive Brunskill\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>After the event finished, many began questioning whether the Saudis should host a women\u2019s exhibition in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to those suggestions, world number five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jessica-pegula\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pegula<\/a> shared her thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Jessica Pegula would be in favor of a \u2018Six Queens Slam\u2019 in Saudi Arabia<\/p>\n<p>During the latest episode of \u2018The Player\u2019s Box Podcast\u2019, Pegula and Jennifer Brady discussed the 2025 Six Kings Slam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prize money is insane. 1.5 million for showing up,\u201d said Pegula.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinner gets 6 million, 1.5 million to just show up, I don\u2019t think I\u2019d say no!\u201d added Brady.<\/p>\n<p>The pair shared a joke about what likely happened when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/the-perfect-replacement-for-jack-draper-as-he-withdraws-from-6-million-event-in-saudi-arabia-due-to-injury\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Draper withdrew from the Six Kings Slam<\/a> due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you think when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jack-draper\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[Jack] Draper<\/a> pulled out, everybody was fighting for that spot?\u201d asked Pegula.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh 100%, clawing, hands and knees,\u201d Brady replied.<\/p>\n<p>Pegula was then asked for her thoughts on the potential introduction of a women\u2019s \u2018Six Queens Slam\u2019 and whether there would be room in the calendar for such an event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2240650273-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Jessica Pegula speaks to the crowd after the 2025 Wuhan Open final\" class=\"wp-image-137953\" \/>Photo by WUHAN OPEN OFFICIAL 2025\/VCG via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think people would make room for that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know, though. I don\u2019t see why not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her co-host Brady also seemed keen, although the 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/australian-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Open<\/a> finalist expressed her concerns about a worrying pattern emerging in women\u2019s tennis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like the women are always just following,\u201d said Brady.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-1653286845-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Jennifer Brady reacts at the 2023 US Open\" class=\"wp-image-127055\" \/>Photo by Elsa\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe men make an event like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/laver-cup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Laver Cup<\/a>, and then people are asking if there should be a female version.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen it\u2019s like, should there be a female version of the Six Kings Slam? I feel like the women need to come up with something before the men, so it\u2019s not just us following.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Only time will tell if the organisers of the Six Kings Slam choose to introduce a women\u2019s event in the future, but it will certainly be something to look out for.<\/p>\n<p>Pegula will still have a chance to earn some big money in Saudi Arabia this year, however, as she prepares to fly to Riyadh for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta-finals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA Finals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Who will join Jessica Pegula qualification spot.<\/p>\n<p>With the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/coco-gauff\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coco Gauff<\/a> leading the way, Pegula won\u2019t travel to Saudi Arabia as one of the favorites, but how has she performed at the WTA Finals during her career to date?<\/p>\n<p>Making her first came closest to the title two years ago, when she won all four matches en route to the final.<\/p>\n<p>She was, however, well beaten in the final, winning just one game as she fell to defeat against Poland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swiatek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019ll be looking to go one better when she
