{"id":32351,"date":"2025-07-02T10:32:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T10:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/32351\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T10:32:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T10:32:08","slug":"city-claps-back-as-wnbas-sophie-cunningham-takes-swipe-at-detroit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/32351\/","title":{"rendered":"City claps back as WNBA&#8217;s Sophie Cunningham takes swipe at Detroit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perhaps Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham is just not familiar with Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about Monday&#8217;s news that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/sports\/2025\/06\/30\/wnba-expanding-to-cleveland-detroit-and-philadelphia-over-next-five-years\/84415553007\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/sports\/2025\/06\/30\/wnba-expanding-to-cleveland-detroit-and-philadelphia-over-next-five-years\/84415553007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the WNBA plans to expand to 18 teams<\/a>, with franchises coming to Detroit, Cleveland and Philadelphia in the next five years, the 28-year-old guard out of Missouri didn&#8217;t seem thrilled about the locations of a few of the teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to listen to your players, too,&#8221; Cunningham said. &#8220;Where do they want to play? This is only her first year in Indiana after she spent her first six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury.
