{"id":323659,"date":"2025-10-22T11:12:20","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T11:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323659\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T11:12:20","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T11:12:20","slug":"artist-chosen-to-paint-new-mural-on-jea-pump-station-under-fuller-warren-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323659\/","title":{"rendered":"Artist chosen to paint new mural on JEA pump station under Fuller Warren Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. <\/strong> \u2013 Jacksonville\u2019s newest masterpiece is on its way to the Riverside Arts Market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\">A new <a href=\"https:\/\/patrickmaxcy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/patrickmaxcy.com\/\">mural is being painted<\/a> under the Fuller Warren Bridge, and the Riverside Avondale Preservation and JEA selected <a href=\"https:\/\/patrickmaxcy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/patrickmaxcy.com\/\">Patrick Maxcy<\/a> to do the job.<\/p>\n<p>The Riverside Avondale Preservation and JEA selected Patrick Maxcy to do the job. (WJXT)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cIt just makes a community very prideful, very happy,\u201d Maxcy said. \u201cThey enjoy it. Their kids get energized. To see a plain, brick concrete building turned into something that is full of life and full of energy for people to just enjoy and be inspired by.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/riversideavondale.org\/press\/ram-mural-patrick-maxcy-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/riversideavondale.org\/press\/ram-mural-patrick-maxcy-announcement\/\">The mural will be on the JEA sewer pump station.<\/a> That facility collects sewage from the Riverside area and sends to the JEA treatment plant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Maxcy already has a vision laid out for the artwork. <\/p>\n<p>Maxcy already has vision laid out for the artwork. (Photo Courtesy: RAP)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cA lot of waves and things like that going on, but you will be able to see above the water and below the water in the St. Johns River,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are going to be a lot of local wildlife, such as alligators, manatees, local birds, fish. Some fun little hidden things, like flora and fauna.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Greg Corcoran with JEA knows a lot of people roam around the area where the mural will be due to things like the weekly Riverside Arts Market and consistent community events.<\/p>\n<p>Greg Corcoran is JEA&#8217;s director of Community Engagement and Project Outreach. (WJXT)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">He wants the new art to provide a visual explanation of why the St. Johns River is important to the area and thinks Maxcy is the perfect person for the illustration. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe hope that it will be like an \u201dInstagrammable&#8221; type of place where people will come get pictures of it,&#8221; Corcoran said. \u201cIt really pops. You are really going to see from far away and from close up. There are going to be a lot of interesting detail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maxcy has more than 15 years under his belt as a professional artist.
