The WTA Tour continues its busy schedule this week with two tournaments, with several high-profile players in action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Guangzhou Open on the WTA Tour<\/a> is now underway in China, as is the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n

But the draws at the latest WTA tournaments have taken a major hit due to several players deciding to call time on their current season.<\/p>\n

The issue has particularly come to light in the last 48 hours, with former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova having ended her season<\/a> already.<\/p>\n

Former French Open semifinalist Tamara Zidansek has ended her season<\/a> too, along with many other WTA stars.<\/p>\n

Now joining the list is former world number 22 Magdalena Frech, who lifted the trophy in Guadalajara last year.<\/p>\n

She posted on X: \u201cThis season was full of everything. Better results in the Grand Slams gave me great satisfaction and the ranking in the top 30, more pressure, mainly the one I imposed on myself. I wanted more, faster, better\u2026 until at some point I started to lose the joy of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe swing of emotions from excitement to doubt caused mental exhaustion. The moments when I didn\u2019t want to go out on the court anymore made me decide to take a longer break and finish the season a little earlier.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing seeded, new expectations, fewer matches, more training \u2013 all this requires a slightly different approach and more maturity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season has taught me a lot. About sport, about myself and about the fact that strength is not only a fight, but also the ability to stop when necessary.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you very much to my loved ones, the team, family, and everyone who supports me. It means a lot to me and motivates me to continue working! I know I\u2019ll come back stronger, calmer and ready for more! See you on the court in 2026!\u201d<\/p>\n

Which WTA players have already ended their 2025 seasons?<\/p>\n

Many of the significant decisions from those ending their seasons early have arisen due to injury, either physical, mental, or both.<\/p>\n

And it can certainly be linked to the ruthless schedule given how players are allowed very little time for rest and recovery, with one-time WTA champion Frech clearly feeling the stress of the calendar.<\/p>\n

Daria Kasatkina reached \u201cbreaking point\u201d<\/a> as she ended her season early, with Paula Badosa stopping her season due to injury.<\/p>\n
