{"id":323892,"date":"2025-10-22T13:11:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T13:11:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323892\/"},"modified":"2025-10-22T13:11:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T13:11:11","slug":"pete-davidson-and-colin-josts-nyc-ferry-project-drowns-in-massive-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/323892\/","title":{"rendered":"Pete Davidson and Colin Jost\u2019s NYC ferry project drowns in massive fees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It may be time to abandon ship.<\/p>\n<p>Pete Davidson and Colin Jost\u2019s notorious Staten Island Ferry project<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/04\/entertainment\/colin-jost-pokes-fun-at-staten-island-ferry-plans-after-calling-it-dumbest-purchase-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> is racking up tens of thousands of dollars<\/a> in monthly docking fees as the craft, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/03\/snl-star-colin-josts-new-ferry-has-an-unfortunate-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dubbed the Titanic 2,<\/a> lingers in a Big Apple harbor.<\/p>\n<p>And the whopping costs are on top of an alleged outstanding $13,500 bill that the pair owes a law firm over the ship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d buddies Pete Davidson (left) and Colin Jost purchased a decommissioned ferry at a city auction in 2022.  NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Steve Kalil, president of Caddell Dry Dock &amp; Repair \u2014 the Staten Island shipyard that lodges the boat \u2014 revealed to The Post that the duo has been shelling out massive monthly rent since April 2022, while their plans for a hip floating entertainment venue remain mothballed.<\/p>\n<p>The exact rent for the boat\u2019s berth has not been revealed, but a $10,000-per-month docking fee would be \u201con the low side,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/10\/20\/style\/colin-jost-pete-davidson-staten-island-ferry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the New York Times first reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d pals also allegedly still owe $13,500 to a downtown law firm that assisted them, alongside business partner Paul Italia, with initial docking and towing fees after they purchased a decommissioned ferryboat from the city in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The law firm, Nicoletti, Hornig Namazi Eckert &amp; Sheehan, <a href=\"https:\/\/iapps.courts.state.ny.us\/nyscef\/DocumentList?docketId=LhbF2NMeXEqx4DhvUFYXLg==&amp;display=all&amp;courtType=New%20York%20County%20Supreme%20Court&amp;resultsPageNum=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has since sued the trio<\/a> over the money.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry is racking up massive fees while remaining sidelined. James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo response to the lawsuit to date, and we have not received payment,\u201d a rep from the firm told The Post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Post requests for comment from Davidson, Jost and Italia were not returned.<\/p>\n<p>The 277-foot ferryboat, formerly known as the John F. Kennedy, was purchased by the celebs at a city auction for $280,100, and they renamed it the Titanic 2.<\/p>\n<p>The comics at the time said they planned to transform it into a $34 million, 1960s-inspired floating event complex complete with two restaurants, a concert hall, six bars and hotel rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Jost has called his and Davidson\u2019s ferry purchase \u201cabsolutely the dumbest\u201d thing. WWD via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The Staten Island-bred Jost and Davidson have joked about their purchase being difficult to keep afloat from the outset.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why idiots should not be allowed to do things,\u201d Jost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5GSyAwN-Cq8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers\u201d<\/a> in the fall 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPete and I bought this boat, and like \u2014 there\u2019s so many immediate decisions you have to make,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jost later added that the ferry <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/09\/14\/us-news\/snl-star-colin-jost-says-buying-staten-island-ferry-with-pete-davidson-was-dumbest-purchase-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was \u201cabsolutely the dumbest<\/a> and least thought-through purchase I\u2019ve ever made in my life.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The vessel hosted a Tommy Hilfiger New York Fashion Week show in September 2024.  James Keivom<\/p>\n<p>While the Manhattan law firm remains disgruntled over its alleged lack of payment involving the project, Kalil insisted  his relationship with the \u201cSNL\u2019\u2019 buds has been nothing but smooth sailing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no problem with them,\u201d Kalil told The Post in a phone interview. \u201cGood tenants, absolutely. \u2026 They pay rent every month.
