NASCAR is returning to Martinsville Speedway. The half-mile short track will host the final playoff elimination race and set the four drivers that will race for a championship at Phoenix Raceway. <\/p>\n
Last year, chaos broke out at Martinsville Speedway. Multiple teams were seen slowing down and not passing cars of their same manufacturer in the closing laps at Martinsville Speedway. It was an effort to help that car advance into the championship round.<\/p>\n
It resulted in NASCAR issuing steep penalties. $300,000 in fines were issued for race manipulation.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty simple. We expect our drivers to earn the best positions that they can. Our fans expect it as well as all our sponsors.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s our job, being the sanctioning body to govern that. We certainly hope that we\u2019ve delivered our message and everybody goes out and does the best they can do for their team.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll monitor all radio communications. Our remote race control is in full operation. We\u2019ll have a lot of extra staff on there. There will be a lot of ears and eyes from NASCAR watching.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBasically everything that every driver and team does, in all three series. Hopefully, that\u2019s not a story line and we don\u2019t go there.\u201d<\/p>\n There was already an incident earlier in the playoffs.
