The worker was found at the pit after FDNY crews rushed down stairs to reach the bottom. <\/p>\n<p>First responders performed CPR before the worker could be hoisted up out of the pit, FDNY Battalion Chief Anthony Romano told media. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he was ultimately pronounced dead. <\/p>\n<p>At a briefing, the FDNY did not know what led to the person&#8217;s deadly fall. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Gateway Development Commission, Amtrak, and Related Companies extend our profound condolences to the family of the worker who suffered a fatal injury on the Hudson Yards Concrete Casing project today.
