Do you have what it takes to work for Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones?<\/p>\n

San Antonio\u2019s newish mayor is seeking a personal assistant to help her handle communication with members of City Council, city staff, citizens and the media, according to a LinkedIn job posting that went live this week<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The listing doesn\u2019t mention a salary. However, it emphasizes that the slot is an \u201cunclassified position, meaning that whoever gets the job is an at-will employee and can be fired at any time, for any reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

That could be reason for concern among potential candidates \u2014 especially since Jones\u2019 office has shuffled staff frequently since she took office in June.<\/p>\n

Former communications director<\/a> Gary Cooper was \u201creassigned\u201d to another city office after less than a week on the job.\u00a0Meanwhile, former chief of staff Jordan Abelson and event services director Rory Vance also left within the mayor\u2019s first 100 days in office.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three former campaign staffers for Jones, who asked to remain anonymous because they signed non-disclosure agreements, told the Current they weren\u2019t surprised by the departures, citing an intense work environment under Jones\u2019 leadership.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anyone applying to become the mayor\u2019s assistant must have a valid Class C Texas Drivers License, a Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited university and five years of professional experience, the job listing states. <\/p>\n
