But\u00a0set aside your love or hate for ChatGPT for a few minutes to consider a very different sort of AI application.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dataland.art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">DATALAND<\/a>, which has dubbed itself the world\u2019s first museum of AI arts, announced that it\u2019ll debut in Downtown L.A. in spring 2026 (a bit later than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/news\/the-worlds-first-ai-art-museum-is-opening-in-l-a-in-2025-heres-what-we-know-so-far-100224\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its initial 2025 goal<\/a>). The Refik Anadol Studio\u2013helmed space will set up at the Grand L.A., the Frank Gehry\u2013designed mixed-use complex across the street from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/music\/walt-disney-concert-hall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walt Disney Concert Hall<\/a> (which Anadol <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/blog\/the-la-phil-is-hosting-a-free-100th-birthday-concert-that-stretches-from-the-walt-disney-concert-hall-to-the-hollywood-bowl-110917\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blanketed in projections<\/a> back in 2018).<\/p>\n<p>Turkish-born, L.A.-based artist Refik Anadol and his wife and studio cofounder Efsun Erk\u0131l\u0131\u00e7 have been translating troves of data into morphing images and rippling particles for about a decade. And DATALAND will house an installation inspired by one of Anadol\u2019s very first pieces, an Infinity Room that he designed in 2014 at UCLA and debuted the following year\u00a0as a piece of\u00a0floor-to-ceiling projection. This latest iteration of his Infinity Room will incorporate AI-generated scents into the fold, pulled from the studio\u2019s Large Nature Model\u2014an open-source repository trained on audio, visual and environmental data from 16 rainforests across the planet.<\/p>\n<p>            <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"video_splash lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761254419_946_sddefault.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Infinity Room will anchor one of the five galleries within DATALAND\u2019s 25,000-square-foot venue. While we don\u2019t know much about the rest of the space quite yet\u2014a press release notes that ticketing, membership and exhibition info will arrive \u201cin the coming months\u201d\u2014we do know that DATALAND will partner with Google Arts &amp; Culture for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dataland.art\/blog\/introducing-the-dataland-ai-artist-residency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">an artist residency program<\/a>; three artists will be chosen for a six-month collaboration that\u2019ll culminate in their pieces going on public display at DATALAND.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"68324bf1-33b7-0644-6e02-8acaf055395f\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761254421_536_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Gallery C \u2013 Infinity Room at DATALAND\" data-caption=\"Gallery C \u2013 Infinity Room at DATALAND\" data-credit=\"\u00a9Refik Anadol Studio\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106334347\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a9Refik Anadol StudioGallery C \u2013 Infinity Room at DATALAND&#13;<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a chance that you\u2019ve already come across one of Anadol\u2019s video installations in L.A., either projected onto\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/art\/luminex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">side of a Downtown building<\/a>, housed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/art\/refik-anadol-living-paintings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">within a Hollywood gallery<\/a>\u00a0or illuminated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/los-angeles\/news\/the-clippers-drafted-all-star-artists-for-the-installations-at-intuit-dome-071324\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in front of the Clippers\u2019 arena<\/a>. If you haven\u2019t, I\u2019m not about to start lecturing you one way or another on how you should feel about the merits of AI art.
