LSU<\/a><\/strong> linebacker Whit Weeks<\/a><\/strong> is unlikely to play on Saturday against Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong>, sources tell On3. The first-team All-SEC linebacker in 2024 missed last week\u2019s game at Vanderbilt and is still non-weight-bearing on his right ankle. <\/p>\n

Weeks is fourth on the team with 10 quarterback hurries and eighth on the team with 26 tackles this season. The linebacker was listed<\/a> on Wednesday night\u2019s availability report as doubtful. Weeks is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle. <\/p>\n

\u201c(Weeks) has been doing some additional treatments,\u201d LSU head coach Brian Kelly<\/a><\/strong> said this week. \u201cHe\u2019s feeling better, but we won\u2019t know on him until later in the week.\u201d<\/p>\n

After being listed as \u201cquestionable\u201d to play a week ago, Weeks did not suit up in LSU\u2019s road loss to Vanderbilt. He had rotated more often than usual in the team\u2019s win over South Carolina<\/a><\/strong> two weeks ago, which was a clear indication of Weeks battling through an injury following the team\u2019s bye week.<\/p>\n

Weeks, who has played 259 snaps in six games this season, has logged 29 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery as the team\u2019s top starter at linebacker.<\/p>\n

Whit Weeks saw his breakout campaign in 2024 cut short in the final game of the year when he suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia in LSU\u2019s 44-31 win over\u00a0Baylor<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in the Texas Bowl. Weeks underwent surgery for the injury. The current ankle injury is the opposite ankle that he injured a year ago.<\/p>\n

If Weeks is unable to play vs. Texas A&M this weekend, expectations are that LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker<\/a><\/strong> will start West Weeks<\/a><\/strong> and Davhon Keys<\/a><\/strong> at the linebacker position. The Tigers will also be without starting left tackle Tyree Adams<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n
