The couple informed officers that “their bedroom and both closets had been ransacked, and a number of designer handbags and pieces of jewellery stolen.” After this, they filed claims with three different insurance companies for the purported losses.

The state document also alleges that Eddie submitted overlapping claims for certain items to two insurance providers. “Edward Osefo gave recorded statements to two of the insurance companies regarding a list of stolen items he provided. He was asked if any of the items on the list had been returned, which he denied. He was also questioned about having other insurance but did not disclose to Homesite and Jewelers that he was also making a claim with Travelers Insurance.”

The paperwork states, “The total amount of loss claimed on the Sworn Statement of Loss was $2,500.00 for the building and an estimated $450,000.00 for contents/personal property.” Homesite denied his claim due to nondisclosure of other policies. Eddie “included an inventory of reported stolen items, along with receipts for most of the items listed,” according to the document.

WENDY’S ANNIVERSARY BAND
Investigators noticed Wendy’s diamond anniversary band, mentioned amongst the stolen goods, was still visible on her Instagram account in the weeks after the alleged burglary. The post from 27 April 2024 has apparently since been removed.

Authorities also secured email records from the couple. On 12 April 2024, Edward emailed Wendy a list of reportedly stolen items and asked if there were “additional high-value items we can add to this inventory listing (i.e., Chanel shoes, etc.)? I’m trying to get the total to exceed $423,000 which is our policy maximum.”

Crucially, when the couple were taken into custody on Thursday, a search and seizure warrant was executed at their home and deputies reportedly found at least 15 items allegedly stolen during the burglary. During a Friday press conference, the sheriff confirmed that among the recovered items was Wendy’s diamond anniversary band.

The couple are now facing several charges, including conspiracy, providing false or misleading information, and insurance fraud. Wendy has additionally been charged with making a false statement to an officer. Both posted $50,000 bail to secure their release on Friday.

WANT HER HOME

Missing girl’s sister reveals fight for custody before 9-year-old vanished

KICKED OUT?

Truth behind fears RHOP’s Dr. Wendy Osefo and husband Eddie will be DEPORTED

Wendy joined The Real Housewives of Potomac in season 5.
