PHOENIX \u2014 A SAFE Alert was issued Thursday afternoon for a missing 81-year-old man last seen in Phoenix, authorities said.<\/p>\n

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Douglas Luther Branson was last seen on Thursday walking in the area of 31st Street and Indian School Road<\/a> around 8 a.m.<\/p>\n

DPS said that Branson was wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n

Branson is described as a 160 pound Black male who is approximately five feet, eight inches tall. He is bald with brown eyes and mostly gray facial hair.<\/p>\n

According to DPS, Branson has a medical condition that can cause him to become easily lost or confused.<\/p>\n

SAFE Alerts<\/a>\u00a0have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older or who suffer from dementia or developmental\/cognitive disabilities.<\/p>\n

They are different from the\u00a0Turquoise Alerts,<\/a>\u00a0which started earlier this year for endangered missing persons younger than 65 who don\u2019t meet the disability requirement of a SAFE Alert.<\/p>\n
