Before Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> made the decision to swap Manchester United<\/a> for Chelsea<\/a>, ex-Red Devil Paul Parker made it clear he thought the move was bad for the Argentine and the Blues. Garnacho, 20, severed all ties at Old Trafford when he publicly criticised Ruben Amorim’s choice to side-line him<\/a> for the Europa League<\/a> final.<\/p>\n The United boss, furious with Garnacho lashing out at him so publicly<\/a>, reportedly told him, in front of team-mates: “You better hope you have a good agent this summer.”<\/a><\/p>\n Garnacho did eventually get his move to west London, which was secured through a \u00a340million deal<\/a>. Despite Chelsea leading a 10-man Ajax 4-1 at half time, Maresca chose to bring on Tyrique George and Reggie Walsh, as well as Andrey Santos, Trevoh Chalobah and Josh Acheampong, leaving Garnacho as an unused substitute.<\/p>\n While there have been glimpses of promise from him, he is yet to truly shine. Looking back at his performances for the UEFA Conference League winners, it’s easy to recall Parker’s remarks from June.<\/p>\n The former United defender said at the time: “I also think it would be a bad decision for both him and Chelsea if he went there.<\/p>\n “He needs a bit of fresh air. He needs a change of environment, and I think he could benefit from a move to another country.”<\/p>\n The ex-United star added: “He doesn’t have the right attitude and he doesn’t want to put in enough work. I don’t think that ever will change.”<\/p>\n During Chelsea’s 3-0 away triumph over Nottingham Forest<\/a> in the Premier League<\/a>, Garnacho was given a starting role on the left flank. As the west Londoners found themselves struggling against the home team, he was withdrawn and substituted by Jamie Gittens.<\/p>\n Chelsea attacker Pedro Neto looked clearly annoyed with the South American’s failure to get onto the end of multiple crosses to the far post. Former England international Peter Crouch spotted this and commended Maresca’s choice to substitute the ex-United star.<\/p>\n He said: “Chelsea were a bit sloppy. Credit to Enzo for making those changes. I know Neto was really frustrated with him [Garnacho]. He was crossing the ball and not getting on the other side. Neto was really frustrated with him.”<\/p>\n Garnacho will be hoping to feature in his team’s home fixture against Sunderland<\/a> on Saturday.
