\n\tFour years after she was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer<\/a>, Christiane Amanpour<\/a> is optimistic about her latest bout with the disease.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter being off the air for the past month, the CNN<\/a> anchor recently revealed the return of her cancer in a \u201cfairly rare\u201d form, encouraging other women to \u201clisten to your body\u201d and get checked out.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have it again, but it\u2019s being very well-managed, and this is one of the whole things that people have to understand about some cancers,\u201d she said on the Changing the Ovarian Cancer Story<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI decided when I got back in front of the camera after four weeks \u2014 which included the surgery and a couple of weeks of recuperation before I started chemotherapy \u2014 I decided to say something because I actually wanted to do a service,\u201d added Amanpour. \u201cNot just to my viewers, but also to those who might be in a similar situation. And I wanted to say what had happened to me. And I wanted to say listen to your body because part of the reason I got such quick care was because I listened to my body and went straight to the doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAccompanied by gynecology oncology consultant Dr. Angela George, Amanpour explained that her current cancer has been diagnosed as \u201cstage 1\/2,\u201d meaning it\u2019s in its first stage but had \u201cadhered to my pelvis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAngela told me what it was and why I was potentially lucky because there were actually pain symptoms,\u201d explained Amanpour. \u201cThere\u2019s often no symptoms so many women don\u2019t know, so I feel that I was lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n
