A Kansas City Chiefs “legend”<\/a> just shocked fans with an unexpected retirement announcement, and they’re finding it “hard to imagine” the future without the member of the “Chiefs Kingdom Hall of Fame.”<\/p>\n

The beloved team took to TikTok earlier today, July 1, with the news, sharing with their followers that “The NFL\u2019s longest-tenured mascot is officially hanging up the suit.” Dan Meers<\/strong>, who has played the part of K. C. Wolf for 35 years, has taken off his wolf head for the very last time, and, while saddened by his retirement, fans are also celebrating the “incredible legacy” that the man has built over the decades.<\/p>\n

One football fan who “[doesn ‘t even] like the chiefs” couldn’t help but to agree, “this is a legendary career here.”<\/p>\n

“DAN IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE \ud83d\udc10,” another fan celebrated, with another calling him “Chiefs Kingdom Hall of Fame Dan Meers!!!!!!!!!”<\/p>\n

“35 years of dedication to the Chiefs Kingdom!” someone else wrote in shock. “What an incredible legacy Dan has built.”<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s been the mascot the entire time I\u2019ve been alive \ud83e\udd7a,” one fan realized, as another declared, “He\u2019s a legend. He will be missed. \ud83d\ude25.”<\/p>\n

“Couldn\u2019t imagine 3 years ago crying over a mascot retiring,” somebody else, presumably a Chiefs fan by way of Taylor Swift<\/a><\/strong>, admitted.<\/p>\n

“Why do I need a tissue after watching this?!?! \ud83e\udd79,” somebody else wondered. “Congrats Dan! Well done \u2705.”<\/p>\n

Another fan admitted that it was “Hard to imagine KC Wolf without Dan Meers!”<\/p>\n

“Congratulations on 35 years, Dan!” they added. “Thank you for the impact you\u2019ve had on my life and the lives of so many others!”<\/p>\n
