Debris from the White House\u2019s demolished East Wing, which was reduced to rubble to make way for President Donald Trump\u2019s<\/strong> planned $300 million ballroom, is reportedly being hauled to a Washington golf course the president has shown interest in refurbishing.<\/p>\n Trucks were seen carting away loads of dirt from the East Wing demolition site on Friday, then depositing them at East Potomac Park, an island course along the Potomac River, The Washington Post reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n A source familiar with the project confirmed to the newspaper that the dirt \u201cwill be used to form mounds at the nearby public golf course.\u201d The nearby<\/p>\n USA Today reported the same and captured video of an alleged East Wing debris drop-off at the East Potomac Golf Links.<\/p>\n Journalist Martin Austermuhle<\/strong> visited the course, reporting that multiple workers confirmed to him the dirt was from the East Wing site and \u201cused to create new terrain on the course.\u201d<\/p>\n The revelation comes two months after Politico revealed Trump was eyeing a refurb and rebrand of the course<\/a>. The idea reportedly began as a staffer\u2019s suggestion, which Trump embraced by autographing a rendering of a golden logo like those of his private clubs. The redesign proposal included a new name: the \u201cWashington National Golf Course.\u201d<\/p>\n The East Potomac site is operated under a 50-year lease signed in 2020 between the National Park Service and the nonprofit National Links Trust.
